2K Games has announced the release date and pre-order perks for Borderlands 2 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PCs coming to North America on September 18th, 2012.

The sequel to the 4-player co-op shooter will feature all-new characters, environments and weaponry wrapped around in the world of Pandora in saerch of Handsome Jack and the Hyperion Corporation. Players can shoot and loot as one or as a gang of 4 through local split-screen multiplayer or online drop-in, drop-out multiplayer.

Folks who pre-order Borderlands 2 will gain access to the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club with the downloadable Gearbox Gun Pack, Vault Hunter’s Relic and a Golden Key to unlock a rare item in-game.
