My heart went all aflutter a couple of days ago when it was announced that Pokémon series director Junichi Masuda would be making an announcement regarding new Pokémon games on this week’s episode of Pokémon Smash!

He has since revealed that Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 will make their way to the DS in Japan this June. The Pokémon series usually has an improved third ‘version’ to follow each generation of games. Examples of this include Pokémon Yellow, Pokémon Crystal, Pokémon Emerald, etc, so it was surprising to see two games following the Gen V games!

Mr Masuda has since tweeted that these versions will actually introduce new Pokémon called Black Kyurem and White Kyurem. These two Pokémon are featured in the newly revealed poster for the upcoming Pokémon film!

The actual Kyurem Pokémon is a legendary Dragon/Ice type that appears in the Black/White games. It is not known to evolve into or from anything else. Together with Reshiram and Zekrom, the series’ other legendaries, it makes up the Tao trio.

I can’t wait!
