Prepare to go squee, Hatsune Miku fans, because Sony is releasing a special Miku-themed PS Vita!

The special collaboration design with SEGA Corporation will be released with the PS Vita exclusive – NEXT HATSUNE MIKU Project DIVA – on August 30 2012. As a part of this limited edition release, the game and console will come bundled with a 4GB memory card, an original design protective film, an original design AR Card and a Trooper Pack for the PS Vita.

NEXT HATSUNE MIKU Project DIVA is a rhythm/action title starring Miku herself, and preserves traditional gameplay of “pressing the buttons as the character sings”. However, it has also included a new type of ‘scratching’, which will be realised by players via the multi-touch panels of the Vita.

“By tapping the screen in an intuitive way, gamers can enjoy an entirely new gaming experience,” wrote Sony in a press release. There will also be new costumes available for Miku and other characters.

The PS Vita Hatsune Miku bundle has a SRP of S$588.
