Valve has announced plans to start selling more than just gaming titles over the Steam Platform from September 5th.

Software titles to be sold on Steam range in the creativity and productivity genres that make use of Steam’s ability to download, install and maintain with updates, as well as saving work over Steam Cloud.

Application developers can submit their software titles through Steam Greenlight, especially those rejected by the Mac App Store, for one. More titles will flow in following the September 5th launch date.

Will we see a SteamPlay option for software titles and have the app across Mac and Windows PCs?
