CounterStrike: Global Offensive, the latest iteration in the CounterStrike series, is ready for some serious fragging.

The Singapore launch party was held on August 22nd 2012 at the new Colosseum LAN centre in the Bugis+ Mall (formerly known as Iluma). Christopher Ng, Vice President of Global Sales at Singapore Games Central – the distributor of the title, was on hand to showcase CS:GO and to explain the role Singapore Games Central would play in relation to the game.

Singapore Games Central has been appointed by Online e-Club Management Sdn Bhd for Valve-published games distribution, as well as the distribution and reselling of the Valve Cybercafe Programme for Indonesia, Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam and Brunei. On top of that, it is also in charge of events, tournaments, and the marketing of these games – the first of which is, naturally, CS:GO.

Apart from featuring new modes of play, revamped maps and a more streamlined game engine, CS:GO has also tied up with Steelseries to produce several game-themed peripherals.

CounterStrike: Global Offensive can be played on both the PC and Mac platforms. Its boxset is available at all major game retailers islandwide at S$21.40; the digital download via Steam will set you back US$14.99.
