ARMA II zombie mod DayZ will be developed as a standalone game.

A post on the DayZ devs’ tumblr confirmed that Bohemia Interactive will be the ones taking the plunge with the team. BI Studios are the same folk who developed the ARMA II game.

“The project will follow the Minecraft development model; fast iterations with the community alpha available for a heavily discounted price,” wrote developer Dead ‘Rocket’ Hall on the blog. He also stated that he would be project lead for the game.

The game now has its own website, though info there is a little skimpy. The mod will still continue at its present link.
