Ubisoft has released the first in its new series of developer videos for their upcoming zombie survival game for the Wii U, ZombiU.

The video shows how the game will replace the player character should they be unfortunate enough to not survive, just like a real zombie apocalypse. The way ZombiU looks seems to be picking up where the Resident Evil series left off, seeing how the latter series has appeared more action-based than horror-survival, although it seems players will be comically using the book-like Wii U gamepad to whack zombies in the head.

Will ZombiU be the game that will lurch you towards the videogame outlet for a Wii U console? Guess we’ll have to wait till the end of the year to find out.
