OS and Games Console titan Microsoft has changed their logo for the first time in 25 years, showing its hip to be square.

The new logo is a representation of the range of products under the company’s wing and likely a prod towards Windows 8 and it’s minimalist, squarish “Metro” interface. The new logo invokes memories of the logo the company uses for their concept stores, albeit without the secondary shade of colour in the centre.

The reveal video points the cyan, red and green squares as Windows, Office and Xbox. So what’s the yellow square for? World domination, perhaps?
