The Singapore E-Sports League’s Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition Community League kicked off last night with a 15-man tournament at Tough Cookie Gaming Cafe.

The best-of-two double elimination competition also saw several new faces – a welcome addition to the local fighting game community indeed.

The tournament was won by Niel ‘SKZ’ Chong (Juri). “I feel pretty good considering it’s the first tourney I’ve won,” he said of his win. The Community League was initially meant to be a one-off occasion, but its success has ensured a second run “on a Sunday before STGCC”, said organiser Samuel Ong. Samuel added that nothing regular will be set in stone until after the Singapore Toy, Game, and Comic Convention.
