Legendary Pictures, the folks who did nearly everything worth watching since 2005 (The Dark Knight Rises, The Hangover, 300, Inception) are still keen on the World of Warcraft movie they announced a while back; this in spite of losing director Sam Raimi (Spiderman) to Disney’s Oz: The Great and Powerful.
They’ve since hired Charles Leavitt, the screenwriter of Blood Diamond fame, to work on the script.
Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick has told Variety that Blizzard is “very excited about having a World of Warcraft film,” and that “they’ve been very careful and thoughtful about the development process.”
Legendary Pictures certainly has got a pretty good track record, so here’s to an epic adventure to come in the world of Azeroth.
