Nintendo will release Wii U in two forms, a basic and premium version when it launches on December 8th in Japan.

The Wii U will come in a basic white 8GB version and premium black 32GB version for ¥26,250 and ¥31,500 respectively. The basic set has a Wii U controller (keeping in mind that the Wii U is compatible with your old Wiimotes), while the premium set includes a HDMI cable and charging cradles for the Wii U controller. Did I mention it was black?

New Super Mario Bros. U and Nintendoland will arrive on time as the Wii U’s launch titles. The Wii U will also be backwards-compatible with all Wii games and peripherals, like the Wii balance board. Game discs will also hold an astounding 25GB of content.

Nintendo of America is expected to show their side of the story with their own presentation at 10pm tonight.
